Colonel Francis Eugene Laughton was the son of Sir John Knox Laughton.2 He married Edwyna Katherine Isabel Stevenson, daughter of General Nathaniel Stevenson and Isabella Charlotte Lewin, on 29 April 1922.1 He died on 27 March 1955.1
He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Inverness-shire.1 He was appointed Fellow, Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (F.R.I.C.S.)1 He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.)1 He was awarded the Territorial Decoration (T.D.)1
