     Henry Temple Close-Smith was born on 31 July 1918.1 He was the son of Major Thomas Close Smith and Hon. Caroline Mary Elizabeth Morgan-Grenville.2 He married Cicely Margaret Wingfield Hill, daughter of Reverend Edward Eustace Hill and Elizabeth Cator, on 3 June 1948.1 He died on 28 August 2011 at age 93.3
     He was given the name of Henry Temple Smith at birth.1 He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England. He was educated at Magdalene College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England.1 He fought in the Second World War. He gained the rank of Captain in the service of the Welsh Guards.1 He lived in 2003 at The Old Vicarage, Messing, Essex, EnglandG.1
