     Reverend James Jeffreys was born in 1649.1 He was the son of John Jeffreys and Margaret Ireland.2 He married Margaret Wray, daughter of Sir William Wray, 1st Bt. and Olympia Tufton, on 18 April 1686.1 He died on 4 September 1689.1
     He graduated with a Doctor of Divinity (D.D.)1 He was Rector between 1686 and 1689 at Carmarthen, Carmarthenshire, Wales.1 He held the office of Prebendary of Canterbury.1
