Sir Alexander de Irwyn, 4th of Drum is the son of Sir William Drum and unknown daughter Montford.2,1 He married Elizabeth Keith, daughter of Sir William Keith and Mary Hamilton, in 1411.1
He was given the name of Robert de Irwyne at birth.1 On 16 October 1411 he received as dowry lands of Strachan in Kincardine by charter.1 He was Commissioner to negotiate the ransom of King James I with the English in 1423.1 He was appointed Knight in 1424.1 He held the office of Captain and Governor of the Burgh of Aberdeen in 1440.1

Alexander Irvine of Drum, younger was the son of Sir Alexander de Irwyn, 4th of Drum and Elizabeth Keith.2 He married unknown daughter Abernethy, daughter of Laurence Abernethy, 1st Lord Saltoun of Abernethy and Margaret (?).1 He died, in the lifetime of his father.1
He held lands of Lonmay, Savoch, Corstellie.1 In 1446 he had charter of lands of Learney.1
