William Huntar of Arnele Huntar died circa 1454.1
In 1447 he was infeft of Arnele Huntar.1 He was hereditary keeper of the Forest of the Little Cumray in 1453.1

Archibald Huntar of Hunterston was the son of William Huntar of Arnele Huntar.2 He married Margaret Kerr, daughter of William Kerr.1 He died before 1487.1

John Huntar of Hunterston and of that Ilk was the son of Archibald Huntar of Hunterston and Margaret Kerr.2 He married Margaret Cathcart, daughter of John Cathcart, 2nd Lord Cathcart.1 He died on 9 September 1513 at Flodden Field, Northumberland, England, killed in action.1
He held the Island of Lamlash, or Holy Isle.1 In 1500 he added the great hall to Hunterston Castle.1 He fought in the Battle of Flodden on 9 September 1513.1
