Sir David Hughes-Morgan, 1st Bt. was born on 16 August 1871.1 He was the son of David Morgan and Mary Elizabeth Davies.2 He married Blanche Elizabeth Wedge Buckley, daughter of James Buckley, on 29 September 1896.1 He died on 16 March 1941 at age 69.1
He held the office of High Sheriff of Breconshire in 1898.1 He gained the rank of Major in the 3rd Battalion, South Wales Borderers.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Breconshire.1 He was appointed Knight Bachelor in 1920.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Pembrokeshire.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Tenby.1 He was created 1st Baronet Hughes-Morgan, of Penally in the County of Pembroke [U.K.] on 27 June 1925.1 On 24 November 1925 his name was legally changed to David Hughes-Morgan by Deed Poll.1
