     Sir David Collingwood Hughes, 14th Bt. was born on 29 December 1936.1 He was the son of Sir Richard Edgar Hughes, 13th Bt. and Angela Lilian Adelaide Pell.2 He married Rosemary Ann Pain, daughter of Reverend John Pain, on 14 March 1964.1 He died on 13 May 2003 at age 66.1
     He was educated at Oundle School, Oundle, Northamptonshire, EnglandG.1 He was Royal Navy in 1955.1 He graduated from Magdalene College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, EnglandG, in 1960 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He graduated from Magdalene College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, in 1967 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He succeeded as the 14th Baronet Hughes, of East Bergholt, co. Suffolk [G.B., 1773] on 29 August 1970.1 He was a sales executive with Pye Unicam in 1973.1 He was a sculptor, specializing in ecclesiastical and heraldic subjects, as which bought and became managing director of metal ornament and car mascot firm of Louis Lejeune.1 He was a furniture-maker and wood-carver.1 He lived in 2003 at The Berristead, Wilburton, Ely, Cambs CB6 3RPG.1
