     William Hughes was born in 1803.1 He was the son of Rev. Sir Robert Hughes, 3rd Bt. and Bethia Hiscutt.2 He married Jane Caroline Knapman, daughter of Edward Knapman, in 1827.1 He died in August 1861.1
     He was a practising barrister.1

     William Collingwood Hughes was born on 16 July 1830.1 He was the son of William Hughes and Jane Caroline Knapman.2 He married Fanny Agnes Fynmore, daughter of Colonel James Fynmore, on 16 October 1855.1 He died on 3 July 1899 at age 68.1

     Fanny Agnes Fynmore was the daughter of Colonel James Fynmore.2 She married William Collingwood Hughes, son of William Hughes and Jane Caroline Knapman, on 16 October 1855.1 She died on 7 November 1904.1
     From 16 October 1855, her married name became Hughes.

Lt.-Cdr. Collingwood James Hughes1

     Lt.-Cdr. Collingwood James Hughes was born on 31 January 1872.1 He was the son of William Collingwood Hughes and Fanny Agnes Fynmore.2 He married Lilian Crocker, daughter of John Crocker, on 11 August 1899.1 He died on 25 March 1963 at age 91.1
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Commander in the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve.1 He gained the rank of Paymaster in the Cape Colonial Division, Royal Naval Volunteer Rexerve.1 He fought in the South-West Campaign between 1914 and 1915, with the South African Expeditionary Force.1 He was with Naval Intelligence Department Admiralty between 1917 and 1919.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Peckham between 1922 and 1924.1
