     James Roger Allen was born in 1828.¹ He was the son of James Roger Allen and Catherine Brown.¹ He married unknown wife (?).¹ He died in 1885.¹
     7 children Only two known to me.¹

     William Allen was born in 1832.¹ She was the daughter of James Roger Allen and Catherine Brown.¹ She died in 1834.¹

     Elizabeth Allen was born in 1834.¹ She was the daughter of James Roger Allen and Catherine Brown.¹

     Charles Fletcher Allen was born in 1835.¹ He was the son of James Roger Allen and Catherine Brown.¹ He married Priscilla Malpas in 1862.¹ He died in 1873.¹

     Our Johns brother After apprenticeship at age 21 became ownrer of/director of William Allen and Company Ltd box makers.¹

     John Allen was born in 1754 at Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, England.¹ He was the son of Thomas Allen and Hannah Robertson.¹ He married Elizabeth Wright in 1790 at Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, England.¹ He died in 1832 at Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, England.¹
     He held the office of Sheriff of Nottingham in 1795.¹ He held the office of Sheriff of Nottingham in 1801.¹ Carried on the family business for several years, working in partnership with James Ayms

Thirteen children with about six or seven died in infancy or at an early age.
Apparently he was popular with the ladies and benefited from some of their Estates
In his long years of Office , at city dinners, which were somewhat festive affairs he always had his personal decanter of sherry at his side. When he was made Mayor, and he had to "shout" there was some murmurings among the councillors that he was giving them inferior wine and reserving a fine sherry for himself- until it was discovered that his decanter contained only water coloured with toast.¹

     Elizabeth Wright was born in 1767.¹ Elizabeth Wright married John Allen, son of Thomas Allen and Hannah Robertson, in 1790 at Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, England.¹ Elizabeth Wright died in 1836.¹
