Colonel Edward Jackson Bruce was born in 1828.3 He was the son of George Bruce.2 He was baptised on 14 October 1828 at St. Stephen's Church, Bristol, England.2 He married Ellen Arbuthnot Dalrymple, daughter of William Henry Clarence Dalrymple and Margaret Werge, in 1857.1 He died on 7 June 1879.3,2 He was buried on 8 June 1879 at Naini Tal, Bengal, India.2
