     Dr. Alexander Moir was born on 7 October 1845 at Lecropt, Scotland.2 He married Christian Smith Scott.2 He married Katharina Hepting, daughter of Lambert Hepting.2 He died on 5 June 1898 at age 52 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland, from a leak in an ether unit in the operating theatre.2
     He was registered as a Licentiate, Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh (L.R.C.S.E.)2 He was a medical practitioner at Buccleuch Place, Edinburgh, Midlothian, ScotlandG.1
