     He was educated at Wellington College, Wellington, Berkshire, England.¹ He fought in the Boer War between 1899 and 1902, where he was wounded.¹ He gained the rank of Captain in the service of the Namaqualand Border Scouts.¹ He was decorated with the award of the Military Cross (M.C.).¹ He fought in the First World War, in East Africa, and was mentioned in despatches.¹

     Harriet Jessie Forbes was the daughter of James Keith Forbes.² She married John Stratfold Collet, son of Henry Stratfold Collet, in 1911.³ She married Monthermer Stanley Hume Montagu, son of Rt. Hon. Lord Robert Montagu and Elizabeth Catherine Wade, on 2 October 1913.¹ She died in 1959.¹
      From 1911, her married name became Collet.³ From 2 October 1913, her married name became Montagu.

     Walter Bernard St. John Montagu was born on 5 December 1915.¹ He was the son of Monthermer Stanley Hume Montagu and Harriet Jessie Forbes.² He married Doris Jean Morton, daughter of J. Albany Morton, on 29 June 1948.¹ He died in April 1992 at age 76.¹
     He was educated at Canford School, Wimborne, Dorset, England.¹ He was decorated with the award of the Territorial Decoration (T.D.).¹ He fought in the Second World War, and was wounded.¹ He gained the rank of Captain in the service of the Royal Artillery (Territorial Army), attached to the Royal Air Force as AOP.¹

     J. Albany Morton lived at Culzean, Busby, Lanarkshire, Scotland.¹

     Doris Jean Morton was the daughter of J. Albany Morton.² She married Walter Bernard St. John Montagu, son of Monthermer Stanley Hume Montagu and Harriet Jessie Forbes, on 29 June 1948.¹ She died in January 1992.¹
     She was in the Women's Royal Naval Service between 1942 and 1945.¹ From 29 June 1948, her married name became Montagu.

     John Charles Monthermer Albany Montagu was born on 4 January 1951.¹ He was the son of Walter Bernard St. John Montagu and Doris Jean Morton.² He died on 11 July 2000 at age 49.¹
     He was educated at Gordonstoun School, Elgin, Morayshire, Scotland.¹ He graduated from Hull University, Hull, Yorkshire, England, with a Bachelor of Law (LL.B.).¹ He gained the rank of officer in the service of the Grenadier Guards and Honourable Artillery Company.¹
