     Thomas Edward Williams, 1st and last Baron Williams was born on 26 July 1892.1 He was the son of William Williams.1 He married Lavinia Mary Northam, daughter of Charles Northam, on 14 May 1921.1 He died on 18 February 1966 at age 73.1
     He was educated at Ruskin College, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG.1 He was member of the National Executive of the Labour Party.1 He held the office of Member of the Woolwich Borough Council.1 He was created 1st Baron Williams, of Ynyshir, co. Glamorgan [U.K.] on 24 June 1948.1 He was chairman of the Co-Op Wholesale Society Ltd.1 He was president of the Co-Op Congress between 1952 and 1953.1 He was awarded the Commander, Order of Dannebrog of Denmark.1
