     Thomas Edward Williams, 1st and last Baron Williams was born on 26 July 1892.¹ He was the son of William Williams.¹ He married Lavinia Mary Northam, daughter of Charles Northam, on 14 May 1921.¹ He died on 18 February 1966 at age 73.¹
     He was educated at Ruskin College, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G.¹ He was member of the National Executive of the Labour Party.¹ He held the office of Member of the Woolwich Borough Council.¹ He was created 1st Baron Williams, of Ynyshir, co. Glamorgan [U.K.] on 24 June 1948.¹ He was chairman of the Co-Op Wholesale Society Ltd.¹ He was president of the Co-Op Congress between 1952 and 1953.¹ He was awarded the Commander, Order of Dannebrog of Denmark.¹ On his death his barony became extinct.²
