William Wavell was baptised on 20 December 1750.1 He was the son of John Wavell and Ann Cowlam.1 He married Mary Garrett Smith, daughter of William Smith.1 He died on 15 January 1829 at age 78.1
He graduated with a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.)1 He was a surgeon between 1779 and 1780 at Gracechurch Street, London, EnglandG.1 He was a surgeon in 1793 at Barnstaple, Devon, EnglandG.1 He was discovery of Wavellite.1 He was appointed Fellow, Royal Society (F.R.S.) in 1824.1 He lived at Barnstaple, Devon, EnglandG.1
