Nicholas Taaffe, 6th Viscount Taaffe of Corren1

     Nicholas Taaffe, 6th Viscount Taaffe of Corren was the son of William Taaffe and Margaret O'Kennedy.1 He married Mary Anne Spendler, daughter of unknown Graf Spendler, on 30 October 1729.2 He died on 30 December 1769 at Ellischau, Bohemia.2
     He gained the rank of Field Marshal in the Imperial Service.2 He was Chamberlain to the Emperor, Charles VI.2 He gained the title of Graf Taaffe [Holy Roman Empire].2 He fought in the Battle of Belgrade in 1738, against the Turks.2 He succeeded as the 6th Baron of Ballymote, co. Sligo [I., 1628] on 24 November 1738.2 He succeeded as the 6th Viscount Taaffe of Corren, co. Sligo [I., 1628] on 24 November 1738.2
