     Colin Matheson, 3rd of Bennetsfield was the son of John Matheson, 2nd of Bennetsfield and Christina Gordon.2 He married Grace Grant, daughter of Patrick Grant of Glenmoriston, in 1784.1 He died in 1825.1
     He gained the rank of officer between 1780 and 1783 in the service of the Gordon Fencibles.1 He had five daughters, of whom four married and had issue.1

     John Matheson was the son of John Matheson, 2nd of Bennetsfield and Christina Gordon.2 He died on 7 December 1805 at Bombay, India, without issue.1
     He gained the rank of officer in the service of the British Army.1 He fought in the American War of Independence.1 He was in in the Honourable East India Company Service.1

     John Matheson, of Bennetsfield was the son of Colin Matheson, 3rd of Bennetsfield and Grace Grant.2 He married Ann Arthur, daughter of Reverend Robert Arthur.1 He died in May 1843, without issue.1
     He gained the rank of Captain in the service of the 78th Highlanders.1
