     Robert Hay was born on 18 April 1731.1 He was the son of Alexander Hay of Drumelzier and Anne Stewart.1 He married Janet Erskine, daughter of James Erskine of Cardross, on 7 February 1786.1 He died on 21 August 1807 at age 76.1
     He lived at Linplum, ScotlandG.1 He was with the Honourable East India Company Service.1 He lived at Whittinghame, Berwickshire, ScotlandG.1 He lived at Drumelzier, Peebles-shire, ScotlandG.1 He also had three daughters who died unmarried.1

     Janet Erskine was the daughter of James Erskine of Cardross.1 She married Robert Hay, son of Alexander Hay of Drumelzier and Anne Stewart, on 7 February 1786.1 She died on 29 August 1808.1
     From 7 February 1786, her married name became Hay.1

     William Hay was born on 29 February 1788.1 He was the son of Robert Hay and Janet Erskine.1 He married Mary Garstin, daughter of Major John Bradstreet Garstin, on 13 May 1816.1 He died on 16 May 1876 at age 88.1
     He gained the rank of Colonel in the Militia.1 He was Convenor of Berwickshire.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.)1 He lived at Duns Castle, Berwickshire, ScotlandG.1 He also had two other daughters who died unmarried.1

Mary Garstin1

     Mary Garstin was the daughter of Major John Bradstreet Garstin.1 She married William Hay, son of Robert Hay and Janet Erskine, on 13 May 1816.1 She died on 10 June 1863.1
     From 13 May 1816, her married name became Hay.1
