John Greene was born on 30 June 1744.1 He was the son of John Greene and Frances Nicholson.2 He married, firstly, Nina Boyse, daughter of Thomas Boyse, on 10 June 1775.1 He married, secondly, Letitia Greene, daughter of Nuttall Greene and Elizabeth Rothe, on 9 March 1782.1 He died in May 1803 at age 58.1
He gained the rank of Captain in the service of the 8th Dragoons.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of County Kilkenny in 1792.1 He lived at Greenville, County Kilkenny, Ireland.1
