     Major Acton Henry Gordon Gibbon was born on 7 June 1924 at Marylebone, London, England.1,2 He was the son of Colonel Edward Acton Gibbon and Dorothea Mary Cooper.3 He married Rosamund Hope Lowry, daughter of Commander Robert Graham Lowry, on 3 April 1956.1 He died on 4 October 2008 at age 84 at Enniskillen, County Fermanagh, Ireland.2
     Major Acton Henry Gordon Gibbon also went by the nick-name of Spud.1 He was educated at Wellington College, Crowthorne, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He fought in the Second World War.1 He fought in the Korean War between 1951 and 1953, where he became a POW.1 He was awarded the George Medal (G.M.) in 1954.1 He retired from the military in 1967, with the rank of Major, late of the Royal Artillery.1 He lived in 1976 at Errington, County Tyrone, IrelandG.1
