     John Charles Bengough was born on 20 May 1829 at Clifton, Bristol, Gloucestershire, EnglandG.1 He was the son of George Bengough and Anne Carpenter.1 He was baptised on 22 June 1829 at Clifton, Bristol, Gloucestershire, EnglandG.1 He married Caroline Augusta Cornwall, daughter of Reverend Alan Gardner Cornwall and Caroline Marianne Kingscote, on 9 June 1857.1 He died on 19 March 1913 at age 83 at Midanbury Bitterne Park, Southampton, Hampshire, EnglandG.1 His will was proven (by probate) on 26 September 1913.1
