     Sir Richard Tempest was born in 1356.1 He was the son of Sir Richard Tempest and Maria Talbot.2 He married, firstly, Gemelyn Grassus, daughter of John Grassus.1 He married, secondly, Margaret de Stainforth, daughter of Robert de Stainforth.1
     He was appointed Knight before 1380.1 He held the office of Warden of Roxburgh Castle in 1385.1 He held the office of Warden of Berwick in 1386.1 He was Lieutenant of Carlisle Castle in 1396.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Lancashire in 1401.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Yorskhire in 1403.1 He was He held a command in Aquitaine during the Hundred Years War.1 He fought in the Battle of Agincourt in 1415.1

     Gemelyn Grassus is the daughter of John Grassus.2 She married Sir Richard Tempest, son of Sir Richard Tempest and Maria Talbot.1
     Her married name became Tempest. In 1385 one of these supposed wives was abducted by the Scots.1

Sir Piers Tempest1

     Sir Piers Tempest was the son of Sir Richard Tempest and Gemelyn Grassus.2 He married Grace de Hebden, daughter of Sir Nicholas de Hebden, circa 1400.1 He died circa 1417.1
     He fought in the Battle of Agincourt, presumably served in that campaign.1 He was appointed Knight on 24 October 1415.1 He lived at Bracewell, Yorkshire, EnglandG.1 He was commander of the troops in France in 1417.1

     Grace de Hebden is the daughter of Sir Nicholas de Hebden.1 She married, firstly, Sir Piers Tempest, son of Sir Richard Tempest and Gemelyn Grassus, circa 1400.1 She married, secondly, Sir William Frank in 1422.1 She married, thirdly, Thomas Darcy in 1434.1
     From circa 1400, her married name became Tempest. From 1422, her married name became Frank.1 From 1434, her married name became Darcy.1
