     Archibald Carlyle Fairfax was born on 24 August 1843.¹ He was the son of Archibald Blair Fairfax and Sarah Carlyle Herbert.² He married Virginia Caroline Redwood, daughter of W. H. Redwood, on 30 April 1873.¹ He died on 4 August 1879 at age 35.¹
     He fought in the American Civil War.¹ He gained the rank of officer in the 17th Virginia Infantry (Stonewall Brigade), Confederate States.¹

     Virginia Caroline Redwood is the daughter of W. H. Redwood.¹ She married, firstly, Archibald Carlyle Fairfax, son of Archibald Blair Fairfax and Sarah Carlyle Herbert, on 30 April 1873.¹ She married, secondly, Henry Byrd Lewis, son of Dangerfield Lewis and Lucy Brockborough Pratt, on 29 November 1892.¹
     From 30 August 1873, her married name became Fairfax. From 29 November 1892, her married name became Lewis.¹

     Lt.-Col. John Carlyle Fairfax was born on 22 December 1874.¹ He was the son of Archibald Carlyle Fairfax and Virginia Caroline Redwood.² He married Winifred May Pollock, daughter of Lt.-Col. Otis Wheeler Pollock, in 1909.¹ He died on 21 April 1944 at age 69.¹
     He fought in the Spanish-American War in 1898.¹ He fought in the Philippine Insurrection between 1901 and 1902.¹ He fought in the Pulahan Campaign Philippines between 1905 and 1906.¹ He fought in the First World War between 1918 and 1919, in France.¹ He was awarded the Bronze Star and two bars.¹

     Lt.-Col. Otis Wheeler Pollock gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the U.S. Army.¹

     Winifred May Pollock was the daughter of Lt.-Col. Otis Wheeler Pollock.² She married Lt.-Col. John Carlyle Fairfax, son of Archibald Carlyle Fairfax and Virginia Caroline Redwood, in 1909.¹ She died in June 1960.¹
     From 1909, her married name became Fairfax.

     John Pollock Fairfax was born on 18 February 1911.¹ He was the son of Lt.-Col. John Carlyle Fairfax and Winifred May Pollock.² He married Dorothy Elsa Steeple, daughter of Reginald Charles Steeple, on 22 February 1935.¹ He died in 1983.¹

     Reginald Charles Steeple lived at San Mateo, California, U.S.A.^G.¹

     Dorothy Elsa Steeple is the daughter of Reginald Charles Steeple.² She married John Pollock Fairfax, son of Lt.-Col. John Carlyle Fairfax and Winifred May Pollock, on 22 February 1935.¹
     From 22 February 1935, her married name became Fairfax.

     Dorothy Anne Fairfax was born on 29 August 1936.¹ She is the daughter of John Pollock Fairfax and Dorothy Elsa Steeple.² She married, firstly, Frederick W. Timby, Jr., son of Frederick W. Timby, on 4 August 1956.¹ She and Frederick W. Timby, Jr. were divorced in 1961.¹ She married, secondly, Henry Mohr Hermann on 9 April 1961.¹ She married, thirdly, Jack Margolis in 1974.¹ She and Henry Mohr Hermann were divorced in 1973.¹
     From 4 August 1956, her married name became Timby. From 9 April 1961, her married name became Hermann. From 1974, her married name became Margolis.¹ She lived in 2003 at 1520 Middlefield Road, Palo Alto, California, U.S.A.^G.¹
