     Henry Vaughan Hawkins was born on 7 October 1879.¹ He was the son of Reverend Charles Halford Hawkins and Susan Haughton.² He married Mary Mackenzie Downie, daughter of Alexander Francis Mackenzie Downie, on 17 May 1906.¹ He died on 16 January 1940 at age 60.¹
     He was with the Sudan Civil Service.¹ He was decorated with the award of the Order of the Nile (3rd Class).¹ He was decorated with the award of the Order of the Medjidie (4th Class).¹

     Alexander Francis Mackenzie Downie lived at Holybourne, Hampshire, England.¹
