     Eileen Briscoe was the daughter of Gustavus Villiers Briscoe.1 She married Evelyn Wentworth Hope Johnstone, son of Captain Percy Alexander Hope Johnstone and Evelyn Ann Hope Johnstone, on 25 July 1905.1 She died on 18 April 1909.1
     Her married name became Hope Johnstone.

     Marie Eleanor Domvile was born on 28 January 1898.2 She was the daughter of Compton Charles Domvile and Eleanor Maria Isabel Richardson.1,2 She married, firstly, Evelyn Wentworth Hope Johnstone, son of Captain Percy Alexander Hope Johnstone and Evelyn Ann Hope Johnstone, on 1 May 1916.1 She and Evelyn Wentworth Hope Johnstone were divorced in 1925.1 She married, secondly, Sir Thomas Ainsworth, 2nd Bt., son of Sir John Stirling Ainsworth, 1st Bt. and Margaret Catherine Macredie, on 10 September 1925.3 She died on 30 December 1969 at age 71.3
     Marie Eleanor Domvile also went by the nick-name of May. From 1 May 1916, her married name became Hope Johnstone. From 10 September 1925, her married name became Ainsworth.

     Mary Evelyn Locke was the daughter of John Locke.1 She married, firstly, Lt.-Col. John Beardmore Batten in 1910.1 She and Lt.-Col. John Beardmore Batten were divorced in 1926.2 She married, secondly, Evelyn Wentworth Hope Johnstone, son of Captain Percy Alexander Hope Johnstone and Evelyn Ann Hope Johnstone, on 30 October 1926.1 She died on 27 January 1962.1
     From 1910, her married name became Batten.1 Her married name became Hope Johnstone.

Major Percy Wentworth Hope Johnstone1

     Major Percy Wentworth Hope Johnstone was born on 2 January 1909.1 He was the son of Evelyn Wentworth Hope Johnstone and Eileen Briscoe.1 He married, firstly, Phyllis Athena MacDonell, daughter of Edgar Errol Napier MacDonell, on 7 July 1932.1 He and Phyllis Athena MacDonell were divorced in 1939.1 He married, secondly, Margaret Jane Hunter-Arundell, daughter of Herbert William Francis Hunter-Arundell and Elizabeth Agnes Paterson, on 26 July 1940.1 He died on 5 April 1983 at age 74.1
     He was educated at Sherborne School, Sherborne, Dorset, EnglandG.1 He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the 16th/5th Lancers.1 He gained the rank of Major in the 155th Field Regiment, Royal Artillery.1 He fought in the Second World War, where he was captured as a Prisoner of War in the Far East.1 He succeeded as the 10th Earl of Annandale and Hartfell [S., 1662] on 26 October 1964, de jure.1 He succeeded as the 10th Lord Johnstone [S., 1662] on 26 October 1964, de jure.1 He held the office of Hereditary Steward of Annandale and Hereditary Keeper of Lochmaben Palace on 26 October 1964.1 In 1982 he claimed the 1662 creations of the Annandale titles, which was considered in a much more favourable light than the 1661 creations (hitherto the subject of the various claims over the previous 150 years). However he died before further progress was made.1

     Margaret Jane Hunter-Arundell was born on 8 November 1910 at Barjarg Tower, Auldgirth, Dumfries-shire, ScotlandG. She was the daughter of Herbert William Francis Hunter-Arundell and Elizabeth Agnes Paterson.1 She married Major Percy Wentworth Hope Johnstone, son of Evelyn Wentworth Hope Johnstone and Eileen Briscoe, on 26 July 1940.1 She died on 5 May 1998 at age 87.1
     Her married name became Hope Johnstone. After her marriage, Margaret Jane Hunter-Arundell was styled as Dowager Countess of Annandale and Hartfell in 1985.

     Patrick Andrew Wentworth Hope Johnstone, 11th Earl of Annandale and Hartfell was born on 19 April 1941.2 He is the son of Major Percy Wentworth Hope Johnstone and Margaret Jane Hunter-Arundell.1 He married Susan Josephine Ross, daughter of Colonel Walter John Macdonald Ross, on 23 August 1969.2
     He was educated at Stowe School, Buckingham, Buckinghamshire, EnglandG.2 He was educated at Royal Agricultural College, Cirencester, Gloucestershire, EnglandG.2 He was an underwriting member of Lloyds in 1976.2 He held the office of Hereditary Steward of Annandale and Hereditary Keeper of Lochmaben Palace on 5 April 1983. He gained the title of 26th Chief of Clan Johnstone on 5 April 1983.2 He succeeded as the 11th Earl of Annandale and Hartfell [S., 1662] in 1985, after his claim was allowed by the House of Lords, Committee for Privileges.1 He succeeded as the 11th Lord Johnstone [S., 1662] in 1985.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Nithsdale and Annandale and Eskdale Districts in 1987.2 He partipicated in an ordinance in 1988; a director of Murray Lawrence Lloyd's Members Agency.2 He held the office of Vice-Lord-Lieutenant of Nithsdale and Annandale and Eskdale Districts in 1992.2

     Susan Josephine Ross was the daughter of Colonel Walter John Macdonald Ross.1 She married Patrick Andrew Wentworth Hope Johnstone, 11th Earl of Annandale and Hartfell, son of Major Percy Wentworth Hope Johnstone and Margaret Jane Hunter-Arundell, on 23 August 1969.1 She died on 4 November 2022.2
     Her married name became Hope Johnstone. After her marriage, Susan Josephine Ross was styled as Countess of Annandale and Hartfell in 1985.
