     Venerable John Pomerey is the son of Very Rev. Arthur Pomeroy and Elizabeth Osborne.2 He married Elizabeth Donellan, daughter of Edmund Donellan.1
     He was educated at Westminster School, Westminster, London, England.1 He graduated from Trinity College, Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland, in 1700 with a Master of Arts (M.A.).1 He held the office of Archdeacon of Cork between 1717 and 1725.1
