     Henry Eric Sutherland Hannay was born on 25 August 1840.¹ He was the son of Colonel Simon Fraser Hannay and Margaret Campbell Graham.² He married, firstly, Maria Josephine Hughenden, daughter of Charles Hughenden, on 10 December 1864 at Bengal, India^G.¹ He married, secondly, Emily Mary Hughenden on 23 March 1888.¹ He died on 24 October 1891 at age 51.¹
     He retired from the military in 1859, with the rank of officer, late of the Royal Indian Navy.¹ He was a tea planter.¹ He succeeded as the 7th Baronet Hannay, of Mochrum, co. Kirkcudbright [N.S., 1630] in 1873, de jure.¹

     Charles Hughenden lived at Calcutta, India^G.¹

     Maria Josephine Hughenden was the daughter of Charles Hughenden.² She married Henry Eric Sutherland Hannay, son of Colonel Simon Fraser Hannay and Margaret Campbell Graham, on 10 December 1864 at Bengal, India^G.¹ She died on 21 March 1887.¹
     From 10 December 1864, her married name became Hannay.¹

     Frank Gilbert Fraser Hannay was born on 16 October 1865 at India^G.¹ He was the son of Henry Eric Sutherland Hannay and Maria Josephine Hughenden.² He died on 4 November 1866 at age 1.¹

     Charles Graham Hannay was born on 13 August 1867.¹ He was the son of Henry Eric Sutherland Hannay and Maria Josephine Hughenden.² He married Sarah Lucy Ramsden on 10 December 1897.¹ He died on 14 January 1946 at age 78.¹
     He succeeded as the 8th Baronet Hannay, of Mochrum, co. Kirkcudbright [N.S., 1630] on 24 October 1891, de jure.¹ He was a tea planter.¹ He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.)¹ In 1901 he claimed the baronetcy.¹

     Sarah Lucy Ramsden married Charles Graham Hannay, son of Henry Eric Sutherland Hannay and Maria Josephine Hughenden, on 10 December 1897.¹ She died on 16 May 1954.¹
     From 10 December 1897, her married name became Hannay.

     John Graham Hannay was born on 2 December 1899 at India^G.¹ He was the son of Charles Graham Hannay and Sarah Lucy Ramsden.² He married Anthea Skimming.¹ He died, without issue.¹
     He succeeded as the 9th Baronet Hannay, of Mochrum, co. Kirkcudbright [N.S., 1630] on 14 January 1946, de jure.¹

     Anthea Skimming married John Graham Hannay, son of Charles Graham Hannay and Sarah Lucy Ramsden.¹
     Her married name became A'Hannay.

     Eric Hughenden Hannay was born on 11 October 1869 at Bengal, India^G.¹ He was the son of Henry Eric Sutherland Hannay and Maria Josephine Hughenden.² He died on 29 December 1919 at age 50, without issue.¹

     Henry James Liggett Hannay was born in 1871.¹ He was the son of Henry Eric Sutherland Hannay and Maria Josephine Hughenden.² He died in 1872.¹
