     John Hamilton, 4th of Orbiston was the son of John Hamilton, 3rd of Orbiston and Margaret Hamilton.2 He married Christian Dalzell, daughter of Robert Dalzell of that Ilk and Janet Hamilton.1 He died in 1621.1
     He lived at Orbiston, Lanarkshire, ScotlandG.3 In 1585 the family estates were restored to him.1 In 1604 he had a charter from his brother Gavin of the lands of Orbieston, Carnbrow, Unthank.1
