     She gained the rank of Section Officer in the Women's Auxiliary Air Force, during the Second World War.¹ From 1 August 1939, her married name became de Costobadie.

     Vincent Ackroyd Palliser de Costobadie was born in 1883 at Grendon, Northamptonshire, England.² He was the son of Ackroyd Palliser de Costobadie and Mary Anne Stevens.² He married, firstly, Mildred Brockbank in 1921 at St. Giles, London, England.² He married, secondly, Mary Blanche Aveys Grey Egerton, daughter of Sir Philip Reginald Belward Grey Egerton, 14th Bt. and Dorothy Aveys Balguy, on 1 August 1939.¹ He died on 14 February 1959.¹
     He was appointed Fellow, Royal College of Surgeons (F.R.C.S.)¹ He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Army Medical Corps.²
