     He graduated from Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, EnglandG, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.)3 He gained the rank of Brigadier in the Royal Artillery.1 He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the British Empire (K.B.E.) in 2016.3

Major James Boswell Egerton1

     Major James Boswell Egerton was born on 4 November 1880.1 He was the son of Field Marshal Sir Charles Comyn Egerton and Anna Wellwood Hill.2 He died on 27 October 1918 at age 37, killed in action.1
     He fought in the Waziristan Campaign in 1901, where he was mentioned in despatches.1 He fought in the Somaliland Campaign between 1903 and 1904, where he was mentioned in despatches.1 He gained the rank of Major in the 23rd Cavalry, Indian Army.1 He fought in the First World War.1 He was awarded the Croix de Guerre.1

Charles Caledon Egerton1

     Charles Caledon Egerton was born on 17 November 1886.1 He was the son of Field Marshal Sir Charles Comyn Egerton and Anna Wellwood Hill.2 He married Madaleine Clayton, daughter of Edward Miles Clayton, on 28 December 1914.1 He died on 18 April 1915 at age 28, killed in action.1
     He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches twice.1 He gained the rank of Staff Captain in the 13th Brigade, British Expeditionary Force.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the West Riding Regiment.1
