     Frederick John Gerard, 3rd Baron Gerard of Bryn was born on 10 November 1883 at Mayfair, London, England.1,2 He was the son of William Cansfield Gerard, 2nd Baron Gerard of Bryn and Mary Emmeline Laura Milner.3 He married Mary Frances Emma Gosselin, daughter of Sir Martin Le Marchant Hadsley Gosselin and Hon. Katherine Frances Gerard, on 17 September 1906.1 He died on 12 February 1953 at age 69.1
     He succeeded as the 3rd Baron Gerard of Bryn, co. Palatine of Lancaster [U.K., 1876] on 30 July 1902.1 He succeeded as the 15th Baronet Gerard, of Bryn, co. Palatine of Lancaster [E., 1611] on 30 July 1902.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the Lancashire Hussars Imperial Yeomanry.1 He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches and wounded twice.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Horse Guards.1 He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.) in 1918.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Lancashire.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Lancashire.1

     Sir Martin Le Marchant Hadsley Gosselin was born in 1847 at Ware, Hertfordshire, England.2 He was the son of Martin Hadsley Gosselin and Frances Orris Marshall.2 He married Hon. Katherine Frances Gerard, daughter of Robert Tolver Gerard, 1st Baron Gerard of Bryn and Harriet Clifton, on 10 August 1880.3 He died on 26 February 1905.3
     He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.)3 He lived at Blakesware, Ware, Hertfordshire, EnglandG.3 He held the office of Envoy Extraordinary and Minister Plenipotentiary to Lisbon.3 He was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Royal Victorian Order (G.C.V.O.)3 He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of St. Michael and St. George (K.C.M.G.)3

     Mary Frances Emma Gosselin was born in 1881 at Russia.2 She was the daughter of Sir Martin Le Marchant Hadsley Gosselin and Hon. Katherine Frances Gerard.3 She married Frederick John Gerard, 3rd Baron Gerard of Bryn, son of William Cansfield Gerard, 2nd Baron Gerard of Bryn and Mary Emmeline Laura Milner, on 17 September 1906.1 She died on 6 April 1954.1
     From 17 September 1906, her married name became Gerard. After her marriage, Mary Frances Emma Gosselin was styled as Baroness Gerard of Bryn on 17 September 1906.
