     John Alexander Forbes-Leith was born on 31 August 1928 at Bockmer House, Medmenham, Buckinghamshire, England.1,2 He was the son of Sir Robert Ian Algernon Forbes-Leith of Fyvie, 2nd Bt. and Ruth Avis Barnett.3 He died on 25 September 1949 at age 21 at Malaysia, killed on active service.1
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.1 He gained the rank of 2nd Lieutenant in the service of the Scots Guards.1 He fought in the Malayan Emergency, where he was mentioned in despatches.1
