     Douglas Hooper Bell was born on 18 September 1916 at Calcutta, India.1 He was the son of Sir Ernest Albert Seymour Bell and Amie Beatrix Loynes.1 He married Phyllis Lilian Davis, daughter of Cecil Davis and Elsie Lilian Bell, on 27 July 1940 at Sheen Hall, Upper Richmond Road, East Sheen, Surrey, England.1 He died on 20 November 1995 at age 79 at Newent, Gloucestershire, England.1

     Emma Hinchcliffe was the daughter of Rt. Rev. John Hinchcliffe and Elizabeth Crewe.2,1 She married Thomas Duncombe, son of Charles Slingsby Duncombe and Isabel Soulby, in 1795.1 She died in 1840.1
     From 1795, her married name became Duncombe.

     Thomas Slingsby Duncombe was born in 1796.1 He was the son of Thomas Duncombe and Emma Hinchcliffe.3 He died on 13 November 1861.1
     He gained the rank of Ensign in 1811 in the Coldstream Guards.1 He was Holland Campaign between 1813 and 1814, as Aide-de-Camp to General Ferguson Holland.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in 1815.1 He was educated at Harrow School, Harrow, London, EnglandG.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Hertford between 1826 and 1832.1 He was said to be the best-dressed man in the House of Commons.1 In 1832 he presented the Chartists' petition to Parliament.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Finsbury between 1834 and 1861.1

     Slingsby Duncombe was born in November 1779.1 He was the son of Charles Slingsby Duncombe and Isabel Soulby.2 He married Martha Elvy, daughter of Henry Elvy, on 23 June 1812.1 He died on 12 October 1851 at age 71.1
     He gained the rank of Captain in the 1st Foot Guards.1 He lived at Winthorpe Hall.1

     Martha Elvy was the daughter of Henry Elvy.2 She married Slingsby Duncombe, son of Charles Slingsby Duncombe and Isabel Soulby, on 23 June 1812.1 She died on 24 March 1871.1
     From 23 June 1812, her married name became Duncombe.

George Thomas Duncombe Peirse1

     George Thomas Duncombe Peirse was born on 14 June 1825.1 He was the son of Slingsby Duncombe and Martha Elvy.2 He married Arabella Georgiana Peirse, daughter of Richard William Peirse, on 27 July 1853.1 He died on 5 February 1910 at age 84.1
     He was given the name of George Thomas Duncombe at birth.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the 11th Hussars.1 He gained the rank of Captan in the Coldstream Guards.1 In 1887 his name was legally changed to George Thomas Duncombe Peirse.1 He lived at Winthorpe Hall, EnglandG.1 He had three sons and six daughters.1
