Reverend William Edward Wingfield was born on 14 February 1867.2,3 He was the son of Richard Thomas Wingfield and Isabella Guile.3 He married Elizabeth Mary Trench, daughter of George Frederic Trench and Frances Charlotte Talbot-Crosbie, on 24 March 1896.1 He died on 25 January 1927 at age 59.2,3
     He was Rector at Thwaite St. Mary, Norfolk, England.3 He fought in the First World War, where he was wounded and was mentioned in despatches three times.3 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Royal Field Artillery.3 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1917.1,3
