Lt.-Col. Raymond Pelly was born on 9 April 1784.1 He was the son of Henry Hinde Pelly and Sally Hitchen.2 He married Louisa Margaret French, daughter of Robert Henry French and Charlotte Reynell, in 1818.1 He died on 20 December 1845 at age 61.1
He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the 16th Queen's Lancers.1 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.)1
