     George Gordon is the son of Robert Gordon and Isabella Byres.2 He married Anne Bowdler, daughter of Thomas Bowdler, on 23 January 1728/29.1 He died in 1758.1
     George Gordon was also known as George Gordon Of Hallhead And Gordon.1 In 1745 Jacobite , Sec to 4th Lord Forbes of Pitsligo, and hence excepted from later amnesty.1 In March 1746 his ho in the Guestrow, Aberdeen, was occupied from 23 Feb–8 , and pillaged during his absence by govt troops en route to Culloden.1 On 26 July 1746 family estates apparently granted to James Chalmers, printer in Aberdeen (probably a friend of the family), as thereafter the lands appear again in the name of His son, Robert (see below).1

     Margaret Gordon was born in 1692 at Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.3 She was the daughter of Robert Gordon and Isabella Byres.2 She married John Black, son of John Black and Jane Eccles, in 1716 at Bordeaux, France.1,3 She died in 1742 at Bordeaux, France.3
     From 1716, her married name became Black.
