     Edward Berkeley Mansel was born on 6 August 1803.1 He was the son of Commander Richard Philipps and Caroline Hopkins.2 He married Mary Secker, daughter of Reverend John Secker, on 20 August 1831.1 He died on 29 May 1879 at age 75, without issue.1
     Edward Berkeley Mansel gained the rank of Captain in the service of the 53rd Regiment.1

     Colonel John Mansel was born on 16 August 1776.1 He was the son of Sir William Mansel, 9th Bt. and Mary Philipps.2 He married, firstly, Mary (?).1 He married, secondly, Louisa Pleydell, daughter of Edmund Morton Pleydell, in July 1815.1 He died on 29 January 1863 at age 86.1
     Colonel John Mansel was invested as a Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.).1 He lived at Smedmore, Dorset, England.1

     John Clavell Mansel-Pleydell was born on 4 December 1817.1 He was the son of Colonel John Mansel and Louisa Pleydell.2 He married, firstly, Emily Bingham, daughter of Captain A. B. Bingham, in 1844.1 He married, secondly, Isabel Colvile, daughter of Frederick Charles Acton Colvile and Mary Leigh, on 21 June 1849.1 He died on 3 May 1902 at age 84.1
     John Clavell Mansel-Pleydell was baptised with the name of John Clavell Mansel.1 He graduated from Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.).1 He was invested as a Fellow, Geological Society (F.G.S.).1 He was invested as a Fellow, Linnean Society (F.L.S.).1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Dorset.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Dorset.1 He held the office of Member of the Dorset County Council.1 On 1872 his name was legally changed to John Clavell Mansel-Pleydell.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of Dorset in 1876.1 He lived at Whatcombe, Dorset, England.1
