Sir John Howard Main Elphinstone, 6th Bt. was born on 25 February 1949.1 He is the son of Sir Maurice Douglas Warburton Elphinstone, 5th Bt. and Helen Barbara Main.2 He married Diane Barbara Quilliam Callow, daughter of Dr. Brian Quilliam Callow, on 20 October 1990.1
