Colonel Pulteney Henry Murray was born on 17 November 1849.1 He was the son of Pulteney Murray and Jane Mackenny.2 He married Mary Leaycraft Ingham, daughter of Hon. S. S. Ingham, on 20 January 1876.1 He died on 15 November 1912 at age 62.1

Colonel Bertie Elibank Murray was born on 10 May 1881.1 He was the son of Colonel Pulteney Henry Murray and Mary Leaycraft Ingham.2 He married Agnes Letitia Evans on 30 June 1927.1 He died on 14 September 1960 at age 79, without issue.1
He fought in the Somaliland Campaign between 1908 and 1910.1 He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches five times.1 He was decorated with the award of the Companion, Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1916.1 He retired from the military, with the rank of Colonel, late of the 1st Battalion, King's Shropshire Light Infantry.1 He was Commander of the 158th (Royal Welch) Infantry Brigade (Territorial Army) between 1930 and 1933.1 He was commander of the 38th Divisonal School between 1939 and 1940.1
