     Brig.-Gen. Charles Gosling was born in 1868.1 He was the son of Francis Gosling.1 He married Victoria Repps Evans-Lombe, daughter of Major Edward Henry Evans-Lombe and Albinia Harriet Leslie-Melville, in 1917.1 He died in 1917 at Arras, France, killed in action.1
     Brig.-Gen. Charles Gosling fought in the First World War.1 He was invested as a Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.).1
