     He fought in the Second World War, with Royal Canadian Naval Volunteer Reserve.¹ He graduated from McGill University, Montréal, Quebec, Canada^G, in 1949 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)¹ He gained the rank of officer between 1956 and 1958 in the Royal Navy.¹ He was awarded the Canadian Decoration (C.D.) in 1960.¹ He was commanding officer of the H.M.C.S. Lanark in 1964.¹ He was commanding officer of the H.M.C.S. Cap de la Madeleine in 1965.¹ He retired from the military in 1966, with the rank of Lieutenant-Commander, late of the Royal Canadian Navy.¹ He was Director of the Ontario Treasury Board in 1967.¹ He was Director of Ontario Student Housing Corporation in 1970.¹ He was Director of the Ontario Ministry of Housing in 1974.¹ He lived in 1976 at 310 Glen Road, Toronto, Ontario, Canada^G.¹
