     James Hubert Theobald Charles Butler, 7th Marquess of Ormonde was born on 19 April 1899.1 He was the son of Rev. Lord James Theobald Bagot John Butler and Lady Annabella Brydon Gordon.1 He married, firstly, Nan Gilpin, daughter of Garth Gilpin, on 3 March 1935.1 He married, secondly, Elizabeth Rarden, daughter of Charles B. Rarden, in 1976.1 He died on 25 October 1997 at age 98.1
     He was educated at Haileybury College, Haileybury, Hertfordshire, England.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Kings Royal Rifle Corps.1 He fought in the First World War, where he was wounded.1 He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, England.1 He was appointed Member, Order of the British Empire (M.B.E.) in 1921.1 He succeeded as the 7th Baron Butler of Llanthony, co. Monmouth [U.K., 1821] on 17 April 1971.1 He succeeded as the 25th Earl of Ormonde [I., 1328] on 17 April 1971.1 He succeeded as the 7th Marquess of Ormonde [U.K., 1825] on 17 April 1971.1 He succeeded as the 19th Earl of Ossory [I., 1528] on 17 April 1971.1 He succeeded as the 17th Viscount Thurles [I., 1536] on 17 April 1971.1 On his death, the Marquessate and Barony of Ormonde became extinct, and the other titles became dormant.1

Nan Gilpin

     Nan Gilpin was the daughter of Garth Gilpin.1 She married James Hubert Theobald Charles Butler, 7th Marquess of Ormonde, son of Rev. Lord James Theobald Bagot John Butler and Lady Annabella Brydon Gordon, on 3 March 1935.1 She died on 8 September 1973.1
     Her married name became Butler. After her marriage, Nan Gilpin was styled as Marchioness of Ormonde on 17 April 1971.

Arthur FitzRoy Hart-Synnot and Mary Susanna Synnot, on 11 April 1912.1 She died on 30 September 1973 at age 84.1
     Her married name became Hart-Synnot.
