     Henry Albert de Vreque O'Brien-ffrench, 1st Marquess of Castel Thomond was born on 7 March 1862 at Hamilton, Victoria, Australia.^1,2 He was the son of Acheson Jeremy Sydney ffrench and Anna Clarke Watton.³ He married Winifred Thursby, daughter of Major James Legh Thursby and Harriet Matilda Johnston, in 1890.¹ He died on 10 November 1933 at age 71.¹
     He was also known as Henry Albert de Freyne.⁴ He was created 1st Marquess of Castel Thomond, of Bolsena, Italy [Vatican] on 17 June 1895, by Pope Leo XIII.¹
