Abraham Richard Montfort was born on 19 September 1838.1 He was the son of Archibald Montfort and Margaret Brewster.2 He married, firstly, Emma Carlisle at South AfricaG.1 He married, secondly, Margaret Leslie Dickson, daughter of George Dickson and Ann Thomson, on 13 November 1866 at Calcutta, IndiaG.1 He died on 9 August 1912 at age 73.1
He gained the rank of Captain in the 10th Foot.1 He lived at Blaine, Washington, U.S.A.G.1
