Henry Dane was born on 9 September 1893.1 He was the son of Sir Louis William Dane and Edith Norman.2 He married Victoria Alexandrina Katherine Wingate, daughter of General Sir Francis Reginald Wingate, 1st Bt., on 7 March 1922.1 He died on 5 December 1942 at age 49 at Tokyo, JapanG, as a prisoner.1
He was educated at Wellington College, Crowthorne, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He was educated at Cheltenham College, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, EnglandG.1 He was registered as a Member, Institute of Electrical Engineering (M.I.E.E.)1 He gained the rank of Captain in the Indian Army.1 He fought in the Second World War, where he became a POW.1 He was awarded the Companion, Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) posthumously.1
