     Walter John Carroll was born on 19 September 1886.1 He was the son of Vincent Stannus Carroll and Catherine Mary McGivney.2 He married Rose Mary Smyth, daughter of John Patrick Smyth, on 18 June 1924.1 He died on 30 March 1970 at age 83.1
     Walter John Carroll was educated at St. Augustine's College, Ramsgate, Kent, England.1 He was a golfer and representative of Ireland between 1913 and 1932.1 He was Joint Managing Director of P. J. Carroll & Company Ltd.1

     From 18 June 1924, her married name became Carroll. She lived in 1976 at Charleville, Dunleer, County Lollth, Ireland.1
