     Lt.-Col. William Nesbitt Burrowes gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the service of the 17th Lancers.1 He lived at Dangan Castle, County Meath, Ireland.1

William Nesbitt Burrowes, son of Colonel Thomas Burrowes and Hon. Frances Beresford.1 She married, secondly, George Drummond, 14th Earl of Perth, son of Leon Maurice Drummond and Marie Elizabeth Lucie de Longemarre, in 1847.1 She died on 11 September 1886.
