     Commander John Magnus Hurrie Garrioch was born on 9 April 1896 at Bombay, India.² He was the son of William Gilbert Garrioch and Julia Elizabeth Boileau.² He married Marion Conway Baird, daughter of Walter Baird and Jessie McHutchison, on 7 August 1918 at Presbyterian Parish Church, Monkstown, County Dublin, Ireland.² He died on 7 May 1958 at age 62 at Killiney, County Dublin, Ireland.²
