     William Browne was born in January 1763.2 He is the son of Robert Browne and Eleanor Morres.3 He married, firstly, Lady Charlotte Bourke, daughter of Most Rev. Joseph Deane Bourke, 3rd Earl of Mayo.2 He married, secondly, Lady Leitita Toler, daughter of John Toler, 1st Earl of Norbury, on 8 March 1813.2
     He held the office of High Sheriff of County Carlow in 1794.2 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for County Carlow.1 He lived at Browne's Hill, County Carlow, Ireland.1 He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of County Carlow.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Portarlington.2
