     Sir Joseph Fayrer, 1st Bt. was born on 6 December 1824.1 He was the son of Commander Robert John Fayrer and Agnes Wilkinson.2 He married Bethia Mary Spens, daughter of Maj.-Gen. Andrew Spens and Diana Diggle, on 4 October 1855.1 He died on 21 May 1907 at age 82.2
     He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the Star of India (K.C.S.I.)2 He graduated with a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.)1 He suffered from Fellow, Royal Society (F.R.S.)1 He was President of the Medical Board, India Office.1 He was Honorary Physician to HM Queen Victoria.1 He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the Star of India (K.C.S.I.)1 He was created 1st Baronet Fayrer, of Devonshire Street, St. Marylebone [U.K.] on 7 February 1896.1 He was appointed Fellow, Royal College of Surgeons (F.R.C.S.)1 He was appointed Fellow, Royal College of Physicians, London (F.R.C.P.)1 He gained the rank of Surgeon-General in the Army.1 He was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Law (LL.D.)1 He was Honorary Physician and Physician Extraordinary to HM King Edward VII.1

     Bethia Mary Spens was the daughter of Maj.-Gen. Andrew Spens and Diana Diggle.2 She married Sir Joseph Fayrer, 1st Bt., son of Commander Robert John Fayrer and Agnes Wilkinson, on 4 October 1855.1 She died on 12 May 1916.1
     From 4 October 1855, her married name became Fayrer.

     Robert Andrew Fayrer was born on 27 June 1856.1 He was the son of Sir Joseph Fayrer, 1st Bt. and Bethia Mary Spens.2 He died on 28 December 1904 at age 48, unmarried.1
     He was Secretary to the Indian Midland Railway Company.1

     Lt.-Col. Sir Joseph Fayrer, 2nd Bt. was born on 8 March 1859.1 He was the son of Sir Joseph Fayrer, 1st Bt. and Bethia Mary Spens.2 He married Ella Mayhew, daughter of Colonel William Augustin John Mayhew, on 30 December 1890.1 He died on 13 April 1937 at age 78.1

     Lt.-Col. James Outram Spens Fayrer was born on 20 February 1861.1 He was the son of Sir Joseph Fayrer, 1st Bt. and Bethia Mary Spens.2 He married Katharine Steward, daughter of Frederick Steward, on 31 August 1892.1 He died on 15 October 1918 at age 57.1
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the 5th Gurkha Rifle Regiment, Indian Army.1

     Katharine Steward was born circa 1870.1 She was the daughter of Frederick Steward.2 She married Lt.-Col. James Outram Spens Fayrer, son of Sir Joseph Fayrer, 1st Bt. and Bethia Mary Spens, on 31 August 1892.1 She died on 11 September 1959.1
     From 31 August 1892, her married name became Fayrer.

     Joseph Steward Fayrer was born on 30 April 1897.1 He was the son of Lt.-Col. James Outram Spens Fayrer and Katharine Steward.2 He died on 21 January 1916 at age 18, killed in action.1
     He gained the rank of in the 2nd/37th Dogras, Indian Army.1 He fought in the First World War.1
