     Elizabeth Cabot Motley was the daughter of Hon. John Lothrop Motley. She married, firstly, Thomas Poynton Ives before 1865.1 She married, secondly, Rt. Hon. Sir William George Granville Harcourt, son of Reverend William Harcourt and Matilda Mary Gooch, on 2 December 1876.2 She died on 1 April 1928.2
     From before 1865, her married name became Ives.1 Her married name became Harcourt.

     Robert Venables Vernon Harcourt was born on 7 May 1878.2 He was the son of Rt. Hon. Sir William George Granville Harcourt and Elizabeth Cabot Motley.2 He married Margorie Laura Cunard, daughter of William Samuel Cunard and Mary Ada May, on 26 July 1911.2 He died on 8 September 1962 at age 84.2
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.2 He was educated at Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Liberal) for Montrose Burghs between 1908 and 1918.2 He fought in the First World War.2 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Royal Navy Volunteer Reserve.2 He gained the rank of Flight Lieutenant in the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve.2 He fought in the Second World War.2

     Her married name became Harcourt.

     She gained the rank of Flight Officer in the Women's Auxiliary Air Force.1 Her married name became Johnston.
